- An airport fee is only charged if a car is collected or dropped off at any NZ airport or wharf, this does not apply to downtown locations.
- Any rentals from a country location (Gisborne, Hokitika, Greymouth, and Kerikeri) are charged an additional fee of $5 + GST per day with 200 free kms per day, excess kms charged at 0.25¢ + GST per km.
- One-way rentals of less than 72 hours (3 days) duration are subject to a fee as per the table below:

- All renters (regardless of whether or not they belong to Avis Preferred Service or not) must physically show their license upon arrival and pick up of an Avis vehicle, worldwide.
- Avis observes a strict no smoking rule in all of our vehicles and reserves the right to charge a cleaning fee should a smoking odour be found after drop off. Excessively dirty vehicles will also be charged a specialty cleaning fee between $80 - $250+GST.
- New Zealand rates are non-commissionable.
- Rates are eligible for frequent flyer points.
- Daily rates apply to a 24 hour hire period, any additional hours are charged at 1/3 of the daily rate up to three hours when a full days charge is incurred.
- Avis reserves the right to amend the above conditions with a minimum 30 days written notice.
