Effective 17 March 2020, Avis Rent a Car New Zealand, will no longer accept any Diners Club International credit cards at time of reservation and rental.
What this means for customers
For reservations that are being picked up on or after 17 March, we cannot accept a Diners Club card for payment. However, we still accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express Credit and Debit Cards. Please ensure you have one of these card types available to you before making a reservation.
If you have an Avis Preferred profile and have a Diners Club card saved as your card type, please update it as soon as possible before 17 March to one of the accepted alternative card types.
If you have a Corporate Account with a Diners Club card, our team will be in contact to discuss the changes. If you have any concerns, please reach out to your Account Manager or our Sales Support team.
Reason for the change
Diners Club New Zealand have changed merchant acquiring partners. Their new partner will not be able to interface with our systems, preventing us from processing all Diners Club card transactions.
