Collison Damage Waiver CDW

CDW reduces the renter's responsibility to - JPY100,000 to JPY150.000 (depending on car group) for damage to the car.

SCDW is available at local stores at JPY1,300/day or 2,300/day depending on car group (tax not included)

SCDW reduces the renter's responsibility to JPY 0 for damage to the car. However, SCDW does not cover Non Operation Charge.

What payment cards do you accept?

We accept: American Express, Diners Club International, JCB, MasterCard/Access/Eurocard and Visa credit cards.

Debit cards are not accepted.

You will need your passport and International Driving Permit (IDP), recognized under the Geneva Convention. The IDP must have an expiry date of one year after issue. It will be valid in Japan one year after entering the country (immigration stamp). IDP recognized under the Paris Convention (1926), Washington Convention (1943), Vienna Convention (1968) are not permitted in Japan. IDP issued in Japan will not be accepted. If you hold a driving permit from Belgium, France, Germany, Monaco, Switzerland or Taiwan you may use your driving permit in Japan for one year after arrival, as long as you provide a Japanese translation of the permit. Please bring both documents and passport to our store. The original copy of the international driving permit is required at the rental counter. A digital or electronic copy, such as a PDF, is not accepted.
You may issue a Japanese translation at your embassy, consulate, or JAF(Japan Automobile Federation). If you hold a permit from Taiwan, you must issue a translation from JAF or the East Asia Relations Commission.

Public liability insurance is in accordance with the insurance laws of the country.  Customer may inquire at the time of rental for additional information of the benefits, conditions and acceptance.

Note: Some credit cards provide insurance coverage, with certain limitations, as a benefit of using the card to rent vehicles.  The customer is advised to contact the card issuer before the rental.  Any waiver must be discussed directly with the location upon arrival.

When you make a reservation, we will charge you a deposit, which will be applied to part of the usage fee. Please note that if we do not receive any contact from you more than one hour after your reserved boarding time, your reservation will be considered canceled. Please note that if a cancellation fee is incurred, the store may contact you directly.

Reservation cancellation fee

• 7 days before the reserved boarding date: Free
• 3 to 6 days before the reserved boarding date: 20% of the basic fare
• 2 days to the day before the reserved boarding date: 30% of the basic fare
• On the day of the reserved ride: 50% of the basic fare
• Cancellation fees are limited to 6,000 yen (tax-exempt). (However, for microbuses, the fee is 12,000 yen (tax-exempt).

Applies to reservations made after April 1, 2026

• 7 days before the reserved boarding date: Free
• 3 to 6 days before the reserved boarding date: 20% of the basic fare
• 2 days to the day before the reserved boarding date: 30% of the basic fare
• On the day of the reserved ride: 100% of the basic fare
• Cancellation fees are limited to 15,000 yen (tax exempt) (all classes).

If you want to pick up the vehicle and return it to a different location, an additional fee will be payable.

If you didn't ask for a one-way rental when you booked and you want to return the vehicle to a different location in the same country, you can expect pay an additional fee of actual one-way fee we set.

Drop offs at a different location must be agreed with us in advance. Please contact us if you would like to understand what additional fee will apply to a one-way rental in circumstances where it didn't form part of your original rental agreement.

If you did not request a one-way rental but return the vehicle to a different location, you will be charged a one-way fee at the 'pay at location' prices available on the day you return the vehicle.

The General Conditions provide more information about what happens if you want to extend your rental, or if you do not return the vehicle to us as agreed. 

The late return processing fee is calculated by our policy and rate and charged to customers.

*In the event of early return, no refund will be provided if the difference between the contracted rental period and the actual rental duration is less than 24 hours.
