Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is optional
Customer is liable for an amount ranging from SAR 123,200.00 to SAR 574.200.00 depending on the car group rented, if Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is not taken. If CDW is purchased, the renter's liability is reduced to an amount ranging from SAR 12,320.00 to SAR 57,420.00.
Note: No coverage is available for loss or damage from civil unrest, or due to any breach of terms and conditions stated on rental agreement.  A fee of SAR 260.00 will be charged, over and above the damage repair cost or applicable excess, as an accident handling administration fee.  In the event of a traffic fine, a fee of SAR 250.00 will be charged, over and above the traffic fine.

Theft Protection (TP) is optional
Customer is liable for an amount ranging from SAR 123,200.00 to SAR 574.200.00 depending on the car group rented, if Theft Protection (TP) is not taken. If TP is purchased, the renter's liability is reduced to an amount ranging from SAR 12,320.00 to SAR 57,420.00. 

Windscreen Tire Damage Waiver (WTDW) is optional
Due to the increased risk associated with today's driving environment Avis has initiated a product to protect the renter from additional costs, the Windscreen Damage Waiver. A nominal fee will absolve the renter of any liability or cost related to either repairing or replacing the windscreen or the other windows on the vehicle should they be damaged by circumstances that are often beyond the renters control. If WTDW is declined, the maximum liability amount will be SAR 5000.00.

Note: If you require additional insurance coverage you may purchase locally to reduce/remove the insurance excess.  Just ask at the Avis rental desk when you collect your car.

Debit cards are not accepted.

At the time of rental, the driver must present a valid driver's license in the driver's name from their country of residence.  Customers presenting a driver's license in a non-Roman alphabet must also present an International Driving Permit (IDP) to serve as a translation in addition to their valid drivers license.

Public liability insurance is in accordance with the insurance laws of the country.  Customer may inquire at the time of rental for additional information of the benefits, conditions and acceptance.

Note: Some credit cards provide insurance coverage, with certain limitations, as a benefit of using the card to rent vehicles.  The customer is advised to contact the card issuer before the rental.  Any waiver must be discussed directly with the location upon arrival.

At this location the minimum age is-

         21 years for car groups A, B, C ,D, E, P
         23 years for car groups F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O

To book an Avis First service, you must be an Avis Preferred member with a valid account; if you do not have one, an account will be created for you during booking. Vehicles are provided with fuel at delivery, and charges will apply based on consumption at the end of the rental. Reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance through the Avis website or mobile app and must be prepaid. All standard Avis rental terms and driver qualification requirements apply. You will be asked to consent to the use of location data and biometric data to access the Avis First service. If you do not provide your consent, you will not be able to use Avis First. Avis First rentals are subject to Avis First Terms and Conditions,

Vehicle Delivery & Return: 
You must comply with all notices on the Avis mobile app pertaining to vehicle delivery and return. The failure to do so may result in additional fees and charges, in accordance with the Rental Terms and Conditions. Airport Locations: The vehicle must be returned to an Avis First concierge. You agree that at vehicle return, you will not leave the vehicle unattended or in the care of anyone who is not an Avis First concierge. 

Non-cancellation fee: 583.00 ZAR

Rates including unlimited mileages are not applicable to South African residents. To qualify for unlimited mileage rates, renters must produce an international passport and return airline ticket to their country of origin, South African renters can obtain quotes on www.avis.co.za.

An Overdue Rental Administration Fee of ZAR1272.00 (incl tax) will be charged should the rental vehicle not be returned by the agreed date and no prior arrangements have been made to extend the rental.

Angola, Malawi, Zimbabwe, and Zambia - No cross border rentals. The Avis vehicle may not cross these borders even if returning to South Africa. 

Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, Swaziland, Mozambique:

• A letter of authority for cross border rentals must be requested and obtained by the customer at the time of collection of vehicle.
• A cross border rental fee of 1,100.00 SAR (including tax) will be charged for rentals into Botswana, Namibia, and Mozambique.  
• An additional Road Tax fee of 180.00 NAM will be paid at the Namibian border if driving a non-Namibian vehicle.
• When crossing the border into Swaziland, a road tax of 50.00 SAR will be charged at the border for all cars with a foreign license plate.
